He does not carve or mold, he uses screw threads, small metal squares or parts of the waste derived from welding. Welding is not easy. The junction points should not stand out. You have to have great skill as a welder to achieve it.

"For a metallurgist and foundryman like me, to the aesthetic pleasure of the work I must add the recognition of his skill as a welder. The need to escape from day to day has led me to create of a world, "my world" where ideas are transformed into the realities that I want. From a very young age I was captivated by iron, its quite a lot and at the same time its delicacy make each piece a new experience. "

sculptor in welding

JEAN PHILIPPE DION

Self-taught, I discovered the pleasure of welding and sculpture quite late. But I quickly fell in love with this discipline, through which I can create works giving free rein to my imagination.

I mainly use, for the realization of my works, various metallic objects, among which knives and shackles of rotary mowers, blades of brushcutters and various agricultural or automotive parts. All parts are used parts destined for destruction, which I give them a second life by "recycling" them.

The parts I use are not worked or deformed. They are presented in their original form. Encouraged by my friends and family, I decided to show my works to the public through various exhibitions.
